Jean Leggett is an international speaker and certified coach, helping her clients step up into personal leadership and understand what it means to live a joyful life. Jean uses her background in comedy and laughter yoga instruction to shape her keynote talk “Leadership Lessons Learned from a Stand Up Comedian.” In it, she shares key lessons on how we can better take ownership in our personal and professional lives. She asks and answers: What does self-leadership mean? How can we lead others when we do not lead ourselves to greatness? And most importantly, how do we become joyful leaders so that we inspire all those we collaborate with?
Jean is fluent in sign language, the product of two deaf parents and raised with a deaf sister. She teaches personal leadership workshops across Canada and the United States in sign language, as well as English.
After a medical error that nearly killed her husband, Jean and her husband moved back to Barrie, Ontario after living in Vancouver, San Francisco and Dallas for 20 years. It was this life event that solidified her focus as a coach – to help people step more fully into their lives, to embrace gratitude and to create more joy.
In 2014, Jean launched a 6-week coaching program called JOY Bootcamp – to retrain her clients to live more fully in JOY in their every day and to eliminate negative thought patterns holding them back from greatness. Many people believe they are happy but Jean challenges them to experience the possibility of living a life of JOY.
