Sweet Charity Medical Assistance Dogs, a Canadian Registered Charity (#82238 5035 RR0001) in Barrie, Ontario exists to train dogs to help people who need them.

It?s that simple! ?Our Diabetes Alert Dogs program trains dogs and matches them with children with diabetes. ?The dogs are diligently trained to recognize low blood sugar and wake the child or get help. ?

Families of children with diabetes bear 50% of the cost of training a dog. The remaining cost is borne by Sweet Charity. That?s why your participation matters so much.

Each trained Diabetes Alert Dog is valued at $10,000.Sweet Charity and you, preparing dogs that are Friends for Life.

Founded by Lori Johnson, in Barrie, Ontario, Sweet Charity’s mission is now the goal of an entire team, each with a specific role and all with the same goal: give kids with diabetes (and their parents) the chance to sleep all night and do things other kids do, dogs in tow.
