The Bradford West Gwillimbury community is invited to celebrate its love for hockey this Saturday (Feb. 4).
The festivities start at 8:30 a.m. with an outdoor tournament for U7 and U8 teams, taking place at Bud Brown Park in Bond Head. In the afternoon, Lions Park will host a 3-on-3 Hockey Tournament from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. There will be two divisions: Youth (ages 12 to 17) and Adult (18+).
Spectators can stay warm by the outdoor fire pits and enjoy hot chocolate (sold by Bradford Lions), while indoors there will be hockey-themed games and crafts to keep everyone entertained.
Bradford West Gwillimbury’s Hockey Day began in 2009 as a way to celebrate the sport in the community and bring the game back to basics with a fun and friendly tournament.
Hockey Day in Canada started in Toronto in 2000 and travels to different towns across the country each year.
