Cryptolocker and its variants are still strong in the field! This neat software will encrypt your files for you without asking and then for a fee, return them to you! Isn't that nice? If you don't want to pay, your options include recreating all your documents or recovering from backups. What if you don't have backups? Then your choices are a) recreate all your files b) pay the ransome c) close your business and retire early.
I have helped several clients in recent weeks to recover from a cryptolocker attack. It takes a good AMRA (Advanced Malware Resolution Agent) to remove the threat and then an online, offsite encrypted backup solution that offers versioned backup options to be able to recover your files.
I can bring both of these services to my clients, Removal can be done after the fact. BUT…if they are both not in place BEFORE the attack, it is not a pretty scene! I do not enjoy watching or hearing my clients crying because their files are gone, I'm pretty sure they don't enjoy it either!
Be prepared! Let me help! It's far less stressfull and cheaper to put these precautions in place Before you need them than after!
