2023 Troubadour Festival!
This year’s FREE Troubadour Festival is taking place at 3 locations in the heart of downtown Barrie, the main thoroughfare (Dunlop St) will be closed to traffic for the entire day in conjunction to Open Air Dunlop.Recent Grammy winner (Best Latin Pop Album) Alex Cuba headlines the Meridian Place stage at 8pm.Live music begins at 9am at the Homestead Cafe, along with daytime performances at the Muskoka Brewery Beer Garden. Refer to the schedule below to see the artists, locations, and times of performances.The Main stage kicks off at 5pm!!!Enjoy the show
Come down this Saturday for the seasons second (2) Open Air Dunlop!
Dunlop Street will be closed to cars from Maple Avenue to Mulcaster Street, to make way for community. You can roll and stroll, shop and patio hop. Drop by and try your hand at sketching11:00 am Help us celebrate the Fab Tray Project. The alleyway between CIBC and P_ZZA has been brightened and beautified by 16 local artists, taking inspiration from the Fab Trays, which were handcrafted in Barrie in the 60’s & 70’s. Adopt planters on Maple Avenue (and plant them wiht perennial plants)
12:00pm to 4:00pm Pollinator Parade & Maple Mews Planting. Pollinate Barrie and the Maclaren Art Centre are teaming with Downtown Barrie to adopt planters on Maple Avenue and plant them with native perennial plants that’ll create a pollinator oasis. Drop by and see good things growing1:00pm Free Pilates Class in Meridian Place with Jim from Namaste North 1:00pm to 5:00pm Teachings, story telling and song at the Barrie Public Library. Elder Jeff Monague will share will share knowledge of 7 Grandfather Teachings followed by music with regional Indigenous musicians4:00pm Free Dance Class in Meridian Place with Uptempo Dance Studio 4:00pm Free Historic Walking Tour with Mary Harris of the Barrie Historical Archive. Lawn Chair Luminata – movies under the stars
Enjoy a Movie Under the Stars Next up in the Lawnchair Luminata season is a Pride Movie Night featuring Kinky Boots. This evening is brought to you by Flying Monkeys and the Queens. The movie starts at dusk (around 9:30).
